Yolanda Johnson

Yolanda Johnson is an executive local government consultant with over twenty years of experience in human services in the non-profit, city, state, and federal government sector. From establishing and evolving strategies and advancing staff competencies to optimizing social services, she leverages a holistic approach to organizational development to assist government agencies in maximizing social services to low- to moderate income communities.

Ms. Johnson is the founder and chief consultant at Family Matters Partnership, INC. Her career includes roles as a program and outreach coordinator, community manager, executive operating facilitator at local government agencies and the school system dedicated to a variety of social causes, including public policy reform, economic empowerment and generational wealth building.

As a strategic partner to non-profits and other human services agencies, she blends her passion for social impact with sound business expertise to help organizations and cities make their cities a better place. Achievements have included igniting economic upward mobility by helping families and individuals understand the importance of building generational wealth through financial literacy. Bolstering program support, paving the way for successful mergers, and multiplying grant funding over 80%. As a family champion, she has also advanced engagement, decision-making, and problem-solving by helping over 280 families create a solid family plan to help structure a better life for their future.

Yolanda entered the local government arena in 2017, leading strategic and operational projects in the Hamilton County, TN government. In 2021, she became the Program Coordinator for the City of East Point, GA, where she quickly amassed over one-million dollars in funding. Over the next four years, she delivered dramatic impacts to the City and surrounding areas. In 2022, she was placed over the City’s newly created Office of Equity, Inclusion, and Empowerment as the Community Social Services Manager and consultant.

Ms. Johnson was recently invited to Washington D.C. to the African American Mayors Association to share her expertise and collaborate with the Mayors of cities around the country. She was also recently invited to a special event with the Trump Administration to share ideas to help support the economic upward mobility of low-to moderate income communities.

Yolanda is an active member of many political organizations. She has several PhD coursework hours as she pursues a degree in Philosophy of Leadership. Yolanda completed the Candidate Development Workshop from The Leadership Institute in Virginia. She completed her Master's degree from Tennessee Temple University in Christian Education and an undergraduate degree from Jackson State University in Psychology with a minor in Business Management. She has completed her certification as a Community Health Worker from Morehouse School of Medicine in hopes of serving the community better when it comes to health education. She recently completed a ten-week Citizen Police Academy with the City of East Point hoping to gain a better understanding of policing and how to help support local police in low-to- moderate income neighborhoods. Yolanda is a Crisis Intervention Team Coordinator and a Mental Health First aider.
